My names is James. I am a former U.S Marine (1981-1987). After leaving the military, I traveled in the transportation industry across the US for several years, and went into law enforcement in 2001 starting as a Correctional Deputy in Tennessee, after being promoted to Court House Security and Transportation which allowed me to learn about our court system, and how other parts of the judicial system works. In 2004 I started working as a Patrol Officer with the LaVergne Police which I had the opportunity to work with students in the Police Explores Program, teaching young adults about law enforcement, and what career opportunities they have in the CJ field. I also worked with gang units and enjoyed working with youth in the community which allowed them to see law enforcement from a more positive direction.
I received my Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice from Bethel University (TN), and my Masters from Southern New Hampshire University (NH). I have experience in online and face to face classroom studies and using different online platforms such as Blackboard and Canvas. My passion is criminal justice, not only because I working in field, but because of recent problems in the field, and wanting to make my profession better for everyone involved.

Knowing the "Rights of the Accused" and knowing how much "Victim Impact Statements" affects court processes.
