Once I had a child, my goals changed and I became a substitute teacher at Smithville Elementary School in Smithville, TN for a few years. I accepted a position from the school to become a paraprofessional in the Pre-K Department where I worked with children individually to promote their confidence in reading and social interactions with others within their classrooms. I retired after being in the Pre-K Department after 10+ years of working with the children.
I currently volunteer with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) an organization that helps children in the foster care system.
