I hold a Bachelor of Science from MIT and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Lee University. I am licensed in Tennessee to teach mathematics in grades 6–12 and was a 2005 National Merit Scholarship winner.
I provide individualized math tutoring with a balance of patient explanation, firm encouragement, and meaningful challenge. I help students develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and become more confident, independent problem-solvers. I care about each student’s progress and take time to understand where confusion or gaps arise.
My approach goes beyond showing students the steps to an answer. I encourage them to explain their thinking, ask questions, and understand why a method works. When a concept is difficult, we break it into manageable pieces and connect it to something familiar. Guided practice helps students build toward solving problems on their own.
I welcome students at a range of levels, from those who need help strengthening foundational skills to those looking for enrichment or more challenging work. I tutor Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, and Calculus, adapting sessions to each student’s needs, coursework, and goals.
My goal is for students to leave each session with a clearer understanding of the material and greater confidence in their ability to work through the next challenge.
