A student of sociology since 1999 and a tutor/teacher of college level sociology since 2014. As a graduate student I tutored student athletes at the University of Texas at San Antonio and loved working with the students to find a balance between academics and their own personal goals. As an adjunct professor at two institutions I have been moved by the different places every student finds themselves in and I do my best to work with the student to develop habits and other means to be successful in sociology and beyond.
I worked as a tutor for student athletes for over a year at UT-San Antonio. I have taught Introduction to Sociology and Social Context of Drug Use. I earned my BA in sociology at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, MS in sociology at the University of Texas-San Antonio. I continued graduate study in sociology at Vanderbilt University-Nashville for 3 years where I worked as a teaching assistant for Introduction to Sociology and Social Problems as well as a research assistant resulting in a publication in the field of public health and epidemiology.
I am passionate about sociology and believe that every student, regardless of level of interest, can do well in any sociology course.
