Hello! My name is Eric and I have been teaching, mentoring, coaching and tutoring students for over twenty years. It started out when I was stationed in Italy with the Air Force and I was asked to volunteer as a mentor at the base high school. Since then I have always been helping students flourish, thrive and grow academically.
Through out my life I have always been actively learning. I love to read and go to school. To me knowledge is key to bettering ones self to help better others and society. I have a master's degree in organizational psychology and my undergraduate degree is in applied psychology. I also have two associate's degrees (one in applied science and the other in legal studies) and a certification in teaching English. I am currently working on finishing an electrical engineering degree.
With the right tutoring and mentoring I feel that everyone has the capability to excel at school and achieve academic honors, even if they have been a poor student. For example, I had one student that had failed out of their undergraduate program their first semester. The student had a very poor academic history since middle school and felt there was no hope. After six months of mentoring and tutoring the student graduated four years later with a 3.8 GPA!
Scenarios like that is what makes me love tutoring students. It is seeing a student realize they are more capable than they thought they were and excel in their academic program.
I have always loved the sciences because they help me to understand the mysteries of the universe and just how things work in general. I have always had a very logical and inquisitive mind. One of my favorite shows is Brain Games on Nat Geo that breaks down science in really cool practical scenarios.
My specialty is in the psychological sciences in what makes us who we are and what makes societies function the way they do. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA in my undergraduate and graduate work in the psychological sciences. My focus and interest while obtaining both degree
