Everyone likes music, but not everyone likes the same music. I've found the best way to meet a student on their level and help them learn is by trying to find a link between the material and the music they already like to listen to, because all styles of music share connective tissue. From rock to classical to jazz to country, all music is built up on the same foundational elements.
