I’m Kristen! I graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University with a double major in Elementary and Special Education with a focus in learning disabilities. I have had many years of experience working with and helping students with 3 years of in-classroom teaching experience.
I am passionate about helping students gain confidence, love learning, and close any learning gaps that may be present.
I have taken around 20 hours worth of additional professional development in math that focuses on the student doing the discovering and the teacher helping to facilitate which is shown through research to help students truly understand math foundational skills.
I have spent over 50 hours doing professional development courses to improve my knowledge and understanding of reading and phonics skills and the best practices to teach them. In addition, I have had experiences with 2 in depth reading curriculums that have allowed me to increase my knowledge and teaching routines.
