My extensive background in science started in August, GA at A. R. Johnson Health Science and Engineering Magnet High School. I graduated in the health science track and making pass plus on each subject of the Georgia High School Graduation Test. I matriculated through undergraduate studies at Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC with two full scholarships. I entered with an Honors College scholarship and while attending earned the only scholarship that the National Institutes of Health...

My extensive background in science started in August, GA at A. R. Johnson Health Science and Engineering Magnet High School. I graduated in the health science track and making pass plus on each subject of the Georgia High School Graduation Test. I matriculated through undergraduate studies at Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC with two full scholarships. I entered with an Honors College scholarship and while attending earned the only scholarship that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD offers. I was selected in the top 5% of applicants to receive the NIH Undergraduate Scholarship. After graduating from Claflin University with a BS in biochemistry (GPA 3.70), I participated in 2 years of biomedical research at the NIH which resulted in 4 scientific publications. I completed an MD and PhD at Meharry Medical College and afterwards did a post-doctoral fellowship at Yale University. I am currently an Assistant Professor at Meharry Medical College, where I teach first and second year medical students while conducting biomedical research.

Very Effective Tutor!

I was in need of a tutor for the math portion of the GMAT test. Math is my worst subject and she laid it out very clearly for me to understand. She also suggested additional practice problems I could do to refresh on previous math I had taken. With her help I raised my GMAT score over 100 points! She was readily available and willing to help.

Good tutor

She was a good tutor but I don't necessarily think her tutoring style was compatible with my learning style. It was helpful to to have someone review problems with but that's it. I'm the type of student that doesn't comprehend concepts quickly and sometimes she would get frustrated that I couldn't comprehend that quickly. Overall she was a good tutor. We did have some communication issues as far as scheduled times.
