Hello! I'm a licensed Special Education teacher with a Master's degree in Special Education (M.Ed.) and over six years of experience supporting elementary students with diverse learning needs. I specialize in working with students with dyslexia, ADHD, learning disabilities, executive functioning challenges, autism, and other learning differences through individualized, evidence-based instruction. My teaching experience has been shaped by Massachusetts public schools, including Cambridge Public Schools, a district recognized for its commitment to educational excellence and high-quality professional development. Working alongside exceptional educators has strengthened my expertise in evidence-based instruction, structured literacy, and individualized learning.

Reading is my greatest passion. I provide explicit, systematic instruction in phonics, decoding, fluency, reading comprehension, spelling, vocabulary, and writing using structured literacy principles. My teaching is informed by professional development in LETRS, the Wilson Reading System, Orton-Gillingham methodologies, and other evidence-based practices.

As a special education teacher, I do more than help with homework. I assess each student's strengths, tailor instruction to their individual needs, monitor progress, and adapt lessons to maximize growth. I also provide support in elementary writing, math, executive functioning, study skills, and homework.

Parents often tell me their children genuinely look forward to our sessions because I create a positive, supportive environment where students feel safe, challenged, and successful. Whether your child needs specialized intervention, targeted skill development, or homework support, I look forward to helping them become a confident, independent learner.

My goal is to create a positive, supportive learning environment where every student feels understood, confident, and capable of success.

Elementary (K-6th)

As a Special Education teacher with a Master's degree and over six years of experience, I have worked with elementary students across multiple grade levels in a variety of academic subjects. I am familiar with elementary curriculum, grade-level standards, and the foundational skills students need to be successful. I believe strong relationships are the foundation of effective teaching and strive to create a positive, engaging learning environment where students feel supported, challenged, and excited to learn. My instruction is individualized to meet each child's unique strengths and needs, helping them build both academic skills and confidence.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

As a licensed Special Education teacher with an M.Ed. and over six years of experience in elementary education, I have taught math across multiple grade levels and am experienced with a variety of elementary math curricula, standards, and instructional practices. I believe math is especially valuable for encouraging exploration and problem-solving, as students can often use multiple strategies to arrive at the same solution. I help students discover the approaches that make the most sense to them while also challenging them to develop flexible mathematical thinking. I incorporate hands-on learning, manipulatives, visual models, math talk, games, and real-world problem solving to make concepts meaningful and engaging. My experience differentiating instruction allows me to meet students at their current level and provide enrichment and challenge when they are ready to work beyond grade-level expectations.

Executive Functioning

As a licensed Special Education teacher with six years of experience, I have helped many students strengthen the executive functioning skills needed for success in school and everyday life. I teach practical strategies for organization, planning, time management, task initiation, and self-monitoring while adapting instruction to each student's unique strengths and needs. I create structured, supportive learning environments that help students build confidence, develop independence, and take ownership of their learning. My goal is to equip students with lasting strategies that will support their success both inside and outside the classroom.
