At Ohio State, I spent 5 semesters tutoring where I worked with more than 20 fellow students in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Intro Biology. These sessions were one-on-one and focused on homework, exam prep, problem sets, etc. During high school, I tutored students in both ACT and SAT prep. I’m happy to work with high school, college, and pre-med/MCAT students.
My tutoring approach focuses on making difficult concepts easier to understand rather than simply memorizing information. I break complex topics into smaller, manageable steps, use examples to reinforce key ideas, and work through practice problems together before having students try them on their own. Every student learns differently, so I adjust my explanations to each student’s needs, goals, and level of understanding.
Having gone from undergraduate science courses to medical school, I know how important a strong foundation is for success in advanced coursework.
