My name is Christopher, and I am a fourth-year medical student at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. I scored a 265 on USMLE Step 2 CK and have tutored over 20 fellow medical students across the full spectrum of training, including pre-clinical coursework, NBME shelf exams, Step 1, and Step 2 CK. Through my own exam preparation and teaching experience, I’ve developed a strong understanding of how these exams are written and more importantly, how successful students consistently think through questions under time pressure.
My tutoring style focuses on building deep conceptual understanding and repeatable clinical reasoning frameworks, rather than rote memorization. During sessions, we work through practice questions together to identify patterns, clarify why certain answer choices are tempting but incorrect, and develop a structured approach that students can reliably apply on exam day. I place a strong emphasis on test-taking strategy, question interpretation, and bridging the gap between “knowing the material” and actually scoring well.
I primarily work with students preparing for Step 1, Step 2 CK, and NBME shelf exams—especially those who feel they understand the content but struggle with confidence, consistency, or applying knowledge in question-based exams. My goal is to create a supportive, low-stress learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and thinking out loud. I’m always happy to start with an introductory session to make sure my teaching style is a good fit and to tailor our approach to your specific goals and challenges.
