Hi, I’m Edith! I’m a Vanderbilt graduate student currently getting my Master of Education in Child Studies, with a focus on Education research. I graduated with high honors from Georgia Institute of Technology with my bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2024 and have been professionally tutoring students since!
I specialize in elementary and middle school tutoring for reading and math. Before moving to Nashville, I worked in Atlanta, tutoring children in Fulton County public schools, as well as private schools such as Westminster, Wesleyan and Mt Pisgah. I’m highly familiar with MNPS curriculum standards as well as the foundational skills that help students thrive.
I’ve tutored students of all ages, teaching everything from phonics to ACT reading, to college essays. In the past I’ve raised grades from a C/D average to A’s and B’s within one semester, boosted SAT scores up to 600 points, and helped students get accepted to Georgia Tech, UGA and Emory. I’ve also guided children into gifted classes and helped transition several students out of ELL classes.
My tutoring philosophy is heavily impacted by the research I do in educational psychology: I value foundational learning and technique over memorization. As any good builder knows, a house on a poor foundation will fall! Ultimately, I aim to make sure that your child is not only getting the immediate assistance they need but ensuring that they have a strong foundation to build off of.
