Hi there! I’m a passionate Mandarin teacher with over 13 years of teaching experience in the U.S., plus additional years teaching in China and Thailand. I hold a Master’s degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages and a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature, along with teaching certifications from both China and the United States.
Over the years, I’ve taught students from elementary school to college, helping each one grow in both language ability and cultural appreciation. I also love sharing my teaching experience with others — I’ve been invited to speak at national and state language conferences to train and support fellow Chinese teachers.
My lessons are fun, immersive, and practical. I use real-life situations and authentic materials so students can experience the language as it’s actually used. I follow the Integrated Performance approach, helping students build strong interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational communication skills — so they can truly use Mandarin with confidence in the real world.
In my class, you’ll not only learn Chinese characters, but also understand the logic and stories behind how they’re created. I believe learning a language should be joyful and meaningful — something that makes you feel excited every time you speak, listen, or read.
