Over 10 years ago, I began my tutoring journey when I was chosen by my 6th grade history teacher to be a peer tutor for a fellow classmate. Since then, I have expanded my teaching experience across a variety of ages and subjects. During college, I tutored student-athletes in writing and statistics, providing both subject support and guidance on studying. I also have experience working with younger students through the YMCA, where I assisted children in Pre-K through seventh grade with their homework during an afterschool program. These roles helped me adapt my teaching style to meet the developmental needs of different age groups, whether I was helping young children stay focused during learning activities or supporting college students in building confidence in their academic abilities. Currently, I tutor multiple subjects across age groups through a Nashville tutoring agency.
My educational background has provided me with the tools to teach across disciplines. In May 2025, I graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Neuroscience, Medicine, Health, and Society, and Gender and Sexuality Studies, earning Highest Honors. I also completed a certificate in Medical Assisting through the U.S. Career Institute, along with certifications as a Basic Life Support Provider and a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. These academic and professional experiences have deepened my expertise in science, writing, and critical thinking, which I bring into my tutoring sessions.
In every session, I focus on making learning approachable, engaging, and flexible. I take a student-centered approach, breaking down difficult concepts into manageable steps and encouraging active participation through practice, discussion, and examples. I also emphasize student encouragement, since I have found that students thrive when they feel supported and capable. Ultimately, my goal is to meet students where they are and guide them toward not only academic success but also greater confidence in themselves as learners.
