Hello! My name is Diya, and I'm a passionate and experienced tutor currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Biological and Biomedical Sciences at Vanderbilt University. My journey in academia began at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I earned my Bachelor's degree with highest honors and highest distinction. My rigorous coursework and dedication to my studies have provided me with a strong foundational knowledge in the life sciences, which I am now building upon through my doctoral research.

My tutoring experience spans a range of ages and subjects, from elementary school through college. During my time at UNC, I served as a peer tutor for three years, where I had the privilege of helping undergraduate students navigate challenging biology courses. I developed personalized teaching methods to help them grasp complex concepts, improve their study habits, and ultimately succeed in their classes. Before that, I gained valuable experience working at a well known tutoring facility, where I assisted elementary students in building a solid foundation in math and reading. Simultaneously, I privately tutored middle school students in various math subjects, adapting my approach to each student's unique learning style.

My ultimate goal is to become a college professor, and I believe that tutoring is a crucial step on that path. It allows me to refine my communication skills, practice explaining intricate topics in an accessible way, and discover innovative methods to inspire and motivate students. My experience has taught me that the most effective learning happens in a supportive and engaging environment. I am dedicated to creating a positive and collaborative space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building the confidence they need to excel.
