I’m currently a rising senior at Vanderbilt University majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Throughout college, I’ve been deeply involved in science education and mentoring through Vanderbilt Student Volunteers for Science (VSVS), where I taught hands-on STEM lessons to middle school students in the Nashville area. I’ve also worked full-time as a STEM summer camp instructor, leading activities on drones, robotics, and game development for children from Pre-K through 5th grade. These experiences have taught me how to break down complex concepts into clear, engaging lessons tailored to each student’s age and learning style.
I tutor Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, SAT Math, and Biology. For math, I focus on helping students understand the "why" behind the steps, not just memorize formulas. In Algebra 1 and 2, I help students feel confident solving equations and understanding functions. In Pre-Calculus, I break down tougher topics like trigonometry and limits into simpler parts. For SAT Math, I teach students how to approach problems quickly and avoid common traps.
In Biology, I focus on helping students understand big ideas like how the body works, how cells function, and how different systems connect. I try to make the subject feel less like memorizing facts and more like telling a story. I aim to make tutoring feel comfortable, encouraging, and low-pressure so students can ask questions and learn at their own pace.
