Hi, I'm Roman! I have a Bachelor's degree in physics and Classics from Harvard and a PhD in physics from Columbia. I'm now a postdoctoral researcher in physics at Vanderbilt University.
I started tutoring fellow college students while at Harvard, and in graduate school I branched out to tutoring both college and high school students. I've now been tutoring for 12 years and have done thousands of hours of tutoring, both in person and online. In addition, I worked as a teaching assistant for various physics courses nearly every semester in my six years of my PhD program. I led homework help sessions, held office hours, and occasionally gave lectures.
Most of my tutoring has been in physics and mathematics, from middle school to college level. I've also done SAT, ACT, and MCAT physics test prep. I received perfect scores on both the SAT and ACT when I took them in high school, and I scored very highly on the GRE in college.
I really enjoy helping students to not just learn the material, but to appreciate it and see its importance in the world. I leverage my extensive experience and resources to make my tutoring sessions both effective and engaging. I am flexible in how I structure my tutoring sessions. We can review the material together, work on homework, do practice problems, or whatever the student needs.
My goal is to support each student as effectively as possible, and I’m always open to suggestions from students and parents. I pride myself on being approachable and responsive, and I’m happy to answer any questions or help schedule a lesson at your convenience.
