I am a PhD (Political Science), Master of Public Health (MPH- Epidemiology), Master of Public Admin (MPA) and MA (Political Science). I taught at Tulane University, Colorado State University, Temple University and the University of Florida. My specializations are in research design, epidemiology, public policy, public health, (bio)statistics, and American politics.

I have an eclectic background, but it is all in the interest of the public/social sciences. I have a background in quantitative methods, but understand epidemiological practices and methods as well. I wasn't passionate about learning until real life politics started to impact my life. That is why my classes and tutoring emphasize real world applications. Theory is great and vital to real life applications (and you need to understand the problems we face), but we don't truly understand what we are doing until we start to think of what would happen in real life or start to work with the numbers ourselves. You don't want to find out on the job or when it starts to harm your personal life.

I've been teaching my own classes since 2014 at the University of Florida. I started teaching undergrads/grad students in 2011. I may be a little too blunt in the moment, but that is really only to highlight my take away points. Sometimes one approach is too narrow, other times we need a specific approach to get the answer correct.

I want you to do well in exams and sometimes our first swing just misses the target. That said, I am always open to feedback (I learn from student feedback). Tell me what learning styles you prefer, and I will adapt.

Approved Subjects

Biostatistics

Biostatistics

I taught Data Analysis to PhD students at the University of Florida. I also taught Political Statistics to Master of Public Policy students at Temple University. My undergraduate research methods, public policy/health courses also integrate statistical analysis in portions of the semester. Each level approaches statistics and probability based on the background students are coming from.
Epidemiology

Epidemiology

I hold an MPH in Epidemiology from Tulane University. I have taught several statistics, public health and research design courses that incorporate epidemiological principles into coursework. My research also extensively utilizes quantitative analysis to understand public health policies and real world effects.
