Hi, I'm Jarod! I currently am studying as a medical student at the Vanderbilt School of Medicine, and I'm looking forward to helping people understand subjects that are giving them problems in college. I graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a 4.0 GPA and an honors degree in Biochemistry. I have been a teaching assistant for over five years for subjects like general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. In these classes, I lead groups of 20+ students in working on worksheets, writing practice exams, and hosting office hours wherein I worked one on one with students. I have also been awarded the OUTSTANDING Undergraduate Teaching Assistant award and worked as a general tutor in the university's academic success center for a year. I worked at the National Institutes of Health as a biochemist for 2 years, working in a cancer lab. I am a second-year medical student at Vanderbilt School of Medicine, interested in neuropsychiatry. I have hundreds of hours in tutoring experience, and my students have great outcomes in all courses that they are tutored in!

I legitimately love helping students learn concepts because I am genuinely passionate about what I study, and I want to spread that passion as much as possible. I believe that everybody has the capacity to learn anything if they get the information the right way. If you come prepared and open minded, I think we have the ability to lock in some concepts that would be difficult to get otherwise. As a side note, I work best when you come to me with a worksheet, or homework that you have specific questions for. Even better, if you send me the worksheet beforehand, I have time to review the work and refresh myself on the ideas.

I look forward to working with you!

-Just love that chemistry, man
