Hi, I'm Chandler! I'm a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the highly-acclaimed Frost School of Music at University of Miami, where I emphasized jazz drumset and was selected as the Outstanding Senior for the Film Scoring & Music Production major. I have 15+ years of experience as a performer - I've played venues like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I've played at events like Gathering of the Vibes and Mo Pop Festival, and I've opened for acts like the English Beat. Beyond this, I've contributed musically to the Miami Film Festival, I've performed on recordings reaching over 100k Spotify streams, and I've released multiple albums of my own music. I've assisted recording sessions at South Light Sound and Jay's Place on Music Row.
Before moving to Nashville, I taught private lessons and directed student ensembles at various School of Rock locations. My first teaching experiences date back to 2014, and I began teaching on a weekly basis in May 2021. I love teaching because I get to help people achieve their goals, I get to constantly be involved with music, and I always learn from students and their unique experiences. I've taught students from ages 7-67 (mostly in the middle and high school ranges), from beginners to aspiring professionals, including people on the autism spectrum. My teaching process begins by assessing a student's goals and current abilities. I develop lesson plans using that information to best help students. Many of the exercises I teach come directly from University of Miami faculty, including Steve Rucker (drummer; Bee Gees), Lansing McLoskey (composer; GRAMMY-winning Zealot Canticles), Carlos Rafael Rivera (composer; The Queen's Gambit), Craig Carothers (songwriter; Trisha Yearwood), and Randy Barlow (producer; Shakira).
