Do you have an upcoming paper or presentation that's giving you stress? Or perhaps you'd simply like to brush up on philosophy, public speaking, or study skills? If so, I'd be glad to help!

My formal education is primarily in philosophy; I have both a B.A. (summa cum laude) in philosophy from Centre College and a Ph.D. in philosophy from Brown University. However, I've worked with students on many subjects beyond philosophy. For example, I have extensive experience working in writing centers. Across my years at both the Centre College Writing Center and the Brown University Writing Center, I helped students brainstorm, outline, draft, and revise papers on subjects spanning the sciences, social sciences, and humanities.

My teaching experience includes teaching English to high schoolers in France, serving as a TA for philosophy courses at Brown, and teaching my own philosophy courses (both at Brown and at Oberlin College). I've likewise taught several years of philosophy at the high-school level. I've also reviewed philosophy papers for professional journals, and I've published in professional journals myself.

From my time in the education system—both as a student and professor—I've learned that many students all too naturally experience their courses as intimidating and discouraging. If you have had such feelings when preparing an assignment, know that I can sympathize. At the same time, I believe that education doesn't have to be this way. I believe that with a supportive tutor, any student can make progress and come to feel more confident in themselves. Just as many of my own professors have believed in me, and have thereby helped me to believe in myself, it is now my goal to help others in the same way. If you believe that I could help you, please feel free to reach out any time. And even if it turns out, for whatever reason, that I cannot help you myself, I'll be glad to assist you in finding a tutor who can.

Best of luck with your learning, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Fantastic Tutor!

Harry truly helped me a lot with my philosophy class. Being from a stem background myself, many of the concepts in philosophy were difficult for my to grasp. Harry makes everything understandable by putting it into easy to understand terms. He helped boost my grade and saved me from a lot of anxiety. Very flexible tutor and goes above and beyond to make sure you understand the concepts!

Knowledgeable and Professional Tutor

I had a lesson with Harry for my graduate philosophy course on Personal Identity. He is very knowledgeable in Philosophy of Mind. He read my assigned article and draft response paper prior to my first lesson. This was immensely helpful because we were able to get right to work on revising my draft during the lesson. I appreciate his revision suggestions--they made my paper clearer. I will take additional lesson's with him throughout this semester. If you are having difficulty studying an area of Philosophy, Harry is an excellent choice to help you with your work (Including graduate level). His times are flexible so you have many options to fit your schedule.

Excellent Tutor 100% recommend

Harry is an amazing tutor that I will come back to if there is any further help that I need in the future. He is patient with his students and also makes sure to listen to their ideas, as well as making recommendations of his own. I am very pleased that I asked Harry for help during this because he explained to me things I did not understand and made sure I understood before we moved on to the next part. The title sums up my experience with Harry and I 100% recommend him to you all.

This guy’s great

This guy was calm, cool and collected. Patient and honest. Great tutor, no question. A lot of tutors (and teachers for that matter) don’t have the ability to teach over the internet. This man was flawless and knew the system well. He even helped me understand it better and in turn, I learned more. You cannot go wrong with this guy.
