I hold a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, with extensive academic and clinical training in biology, genetics, microbiology and related life sciences. My education included advanced coursework in pharmacology, biology, genetics, immunology, microbiology, and biochemistry, along with clinical training that emphasized applied problem-solving and systems-level thinking. This background allows me to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and accurately, with a focus on true understanding rather than memorization.

My teaching experience includes structured one-on-one and small-group instruction across multiple settings. In my professional role, I have precepted pharmacy students from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy and Belmont College of Pharmacy, helping them develop clinical reasoning skills and apply classroom concepts in real-world contexts. Earlier in my academic career, I also supported students through peer mentoring roles, providing guidance on coursework and effective study strategies.

My tutoring approach is individualized and focused on understanding. I focus on identifying gaps in understanding, rebuilding concepts from first principles, and helping students recognize patterns. I also assist students considering professional or graduate programs in healthcare or science by offering practical guidance on study methods and academic planning. My goal is to help students gain clarity, confidence, and lasting mastery of the material.

Genetics

Genetics

I hold a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree with formal undergraduate and doctoral training in genetics as part of my biochemistry and PharmD degrees, along with advanced genetics and pharmacogenomics instruction during pharmacy school. My clinical training emphasized how genetic variation influences drug metabolism, efficacy, and adverse effects, including real-world application of pharmacogenomic principles. I am also certified through RxGenomix in pharmacogenomic testing and interpretation. I help students understand core genetic concepts clearly and apply them logically, rather than relying on memorization.
Pharmacology

Pharmacology

I hold a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree with extensive academic and clinical training in pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics. My background includes applying pharmacologic principles to real-world clinical decision-making, including drug mechanisms, dosing considerations, adverse effects, and drug interactions. I have taught and mentored pharmacy students in pharmacology through clinical precepting, helping them connect foundational concepts to practical use. My strength is explaining complex pharmacologic concepts clearly and systematically so students can reason through drug therapy rather than rely on memorization.
