I also specialize in R and RStudio for statistics, data analysis, and bioinformatics, including debugging code, interpreting results, and producing clean, publication-ready figures.

I’m a PhD candidate in Molecular Biosciences with 8+ years of teaching and tutoring experience. I’ve mentored 50+ undergraduate researchers and 10+ graduate students, including honors theses in bioinformatics and data analysis. I currently work as a research lab supervisor, graduate teaching assistant, and student-athlete tutor, so I’m used to explaining complex material clearly and efficiently to students at all levels.

I support:
• R & RStudio: assignments, debugging, statistics, plots, RMarkdown, and bioinformatics workflows
• Upper-division biology & biochemistry: metabolism, genetics, molecular biology, physiology
• Intro biology & chemistry: exam prep, concept mastery, and catching up quickly
• Lab reports & scientific writing: data analysis, figures, and clear explanations (even last-minute)

Sessions can be collaborative or task-focused, depending on what helps you most. I offer flexible online availability (day, evening, late night) and do not charge for no-shows or last-minute reschedules.

Publication-quality scientific figures (for lab reports, theses, or papers) are available separately at $50/hour, with typical turnaround 48–72 hours for 1–2 figures.

I’m a PhD student in Molecular Biosciences at Middle Tennessee State University with experience teaching and tutoring biology, genetics, anatomy, bioinformatics, and general science courses. I’ve worked as a graduate teaching assistant in General Biology and Anatomy & Physiology I labs for over six years. I have mentored undergraduate research students for nearly five, including two who completed or are completing honors theses involving bioinformatics. For the past three years, I’ve also tutored through MTSU’s student-athlete program. I’ve presented at regional and national scientific conferences and received multiple academic honors, including the ACS Leadership Development Award. Since many students study late, I provide late-night sessions when most tutors aren’t available. I also provide written feedback or notes without a meeting. My style is simple and flexible. I teach students how to take multiple-choice tests and help them trust their study methods so they can believe in their thinking during exams. I offer flexible scheduling with availability during the day, evening, and night for both online and in-person tutoring.

Excellent caring and effective tutor

Nicole is an excellent tutor. She tutored me for a college Statistics Math class with Biostatistics and biometric topics too. She is very knowledgeable and caring. She truly wants me to do well. She is flexible and does excellent job explaining topics. She is excellent with Math and helping me understand all definitions. I would definitely recommend Nicole and would love to have her as a tutor again.

Exceptional, patient and knowledgeable tutor!

Nichole is an exceptional tutor! She goes above and beyond to help my daughter. This is my daughter’s first time taking a college-level physiology course, and she is truly learning and gaining confidence in the subject. I only wish we had started with Nichole earlier, but my daughter is already catching up quickly. Nichole is extremely knowledgeable and patient, and she really knows how to work with my daughter and provide positive encouragement. She even took time outside of tutoring sessions to calculate how many points my daughter needs to earn in order to finish the class with a strong grade. She provides helpful feedback after each session, is always prompt in responding to my questions, and is flexible with her schedule. Her communication with both me and my daughter has been excellent. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

I am very disappointed from her behavior

Nicole has a lack of professionalism. I've had significant issues with a tutor, including incorrect answers in my assignment, cancelled classes without notice, and poor communication. These issues have disrupted my study plans, particularly during a critical time with final exams approaching. I feel frustrated and disappointed that I wasn't able to get the support I needed, especially given the efforts I've made to stay on track with my studies. It's particularly concerning that this has happened for the second time, impacting my ability to achieve my academic goals.

Tutor responded:

The late-night sessions you booked (11pm-3am CST) were canceled twice by you. Next, the payment failed and Wyzant would not let me schedule with you, I tried. Then the next day you messaged me upset even though the session wasn’t ever booked. On Thanksgiving day, you insisted Eastern Time was 2 hours ahead of CST and claimed the time we had already confirmed, was wrong. I gave up at this point and asked you to find a new tutor. You kept asking for a lesson even after I told you I could no longer help you, and eventually I had to stop responding. You scored a 91% on the assignment we worked on together. I take responsibility for two wrong answers. For the third one, I pointed out that the statements were out of order, but you didn’t correct them. You didn't want to review the answers before submission even though you had plenty of time left before they were due.

Knowledge and patient

Nicole helped me with my problem and solution outline. We also worked on essay structure, citing sources, and formatting. She helped me get an A and taught me a lot during our lesson. I would highly recommend her as a tutor.
