Please allow me to introduce myself; my name is Gina. I have over 13 years of experience providing individual instruction to students of all ages, including students with learning disabilities. When working with students, I help them develop strategies to strengthen their skills in a number of areas including reading, writing, math, test/study strategies, and organization.
I am currently employed as an adult education instructor and provide individual and classroom instruction in reading, writing, math, social studies, and science. I also have previous experience providing academic support services to college students with learning disabilities.
Before moving into adult education, I spent 13 years working as a Learning Specialist in a school that exclusively served students with autism. Through this role, I realized the importance of drawing on a student's existing strengths and interests rather than solely focusing on their weaknesses. This has helped me to transform the way many students view themselves.
