Hello! My name is Amber, and I just recently relocated to Memphis. I have Bachelor's degrees in both chemistry and biochemistry from South Dakota State University. I obtained my PhD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (go big red!) as a synthetic organic chemist. I am now a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Radiology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
I always thought I would go to medical school, but during my sophomore year of undergrad, I started doing research in an organic chemistry lab and started tutoring and teaching supplemental instruction. During this time, I realized that I found myself a new passion and wanted to change career paths. I never thought I would end up where I am, but it's been a pleasant surprise and I'm happy to be here!
I'm well aware that organic chemistry is not typically a fan favorite class, but one of my passions is making it both more comprehendible and enjoyable for students. Feel free to reach out and I'd love to work together!
