Hi, I’m Jiya Patel, a Mathematics and Neuroscience double major at UTK and a Seal of Biliteracy candidate in Spanish. I tutor mathematics and Spanish for middle school, high school, and introductory college-level students. My academic background allows me to support students in Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and foundational Calculus, as well as Spanish grammar, vocabulary development, reading comprehension, and conversational proficiency.

I have experience providing one-on-one academic support in structured tutoring settings, where I focus on strengthening foundational understanding and improving overall academic performance. In mathematics, I emphasize logical reasoning, step-by-step problem solving, and conceptual clarity so students can approach new problems with confidence. In Spanish, I prioritize accurate grammar usage, active recall, and consistent practice to help students apply language skills effectively in both academic and practical contexts.

My tutoring style is organized, methodical, and goal-oriented. I set clear expectations, identify areas that need reinforcement, and tailor instruction to each student’s needs. My objective is to ensure that students not only succeed in their coursework, but also develop durable skills that support long-term academic growth.
