I graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree. I immediately found that a love for teaching, specifically helping students have an easier college experience than I did, and began my career in 2004. I immediately found that a love for teaching, specifically helping students have an easier college experience than I did, and began my career in 2004. In 2005 I completed a minor in Occupational Education and recieved an Occupational Teaching Certificate. I spent the next 18 years teaching Health Science Education, including Anatomy and Physiology (my favorite class!!) and serving as my district's lead nursing supervisor. After almost 20 years in the classroom I decided to return to college to complete a Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration. Now I continue my work as the district lead nursing supervisor, work based learning coordinator, career and technical education coordinator and career coach at the high school level.
On a personal note, I am a mom of three wonderful kids. All three have been very successful in their studies with my oldest two completing the ACT with a 31/36 and 32/36 (my youngest isn't old enough to take the ACT yet). I know the importance of a high ACT or SAT score in college acceptance and obtaining scholarships in many states. In addition, I feel it is never too young to begin preparing for these types of exams.
My all time goal as an educator is to see my student's succeed and become successful adults ready to give back to the community. If I can help just one student have an easier transition into post-secondary education or a career opportunity I have been successful!
