I’m Mrs. Mallory! I have a Masters in Education from UT-Martin and an undergrad in Business Administration. I discovered my passion for teaching kids to read during the pandemic lockdown. Since then, I have changed my career to teaching and have made it my mission to help every child succeed in school, starting at the foundation!
I have 6 years of tutoring experience and four years of teaching experience. I have spent most of my time in first and second grade. However, I did spend a year teaching middle school science and social studies. My heart is in teaching phonics and helping students unlock new sounds and new words.
In addition to my formal teaching experience, I have many years of teaching experience from volunteering at my church to teach Sunday School and at our local daycare, teaching early childhood.
My classroom is very inclusive and I have experience with students who have come to me with a range of abilities, struggles and medical conditions. My classroom and lessons are very ADHD friendly and neurodivergent friendly. I believe every student has the ability to read. As someone who has overcome a reading disability myself, it’s deeply engrained in my teaching philosophy. I look forward to working with you and your child!
