In math, I stress perseverance, confidence that you can solve any problem, and to try to get a little better every day. There is no problem (certainly in HS) that you cannot solve!

In History, we'll see that it's so much more than names and dates. It's stories of great people, villains, and all those in-between! How did regular people like you and me live? What events transformed peoples lives? How did the horrors of war affect us then and now? Why did a thing happen? What is so great about the Constitution? (and it is great!) Why are we at each other's throats if we discuss any of this in social media?

I can help with any high school level math and social studies but I'm best at Algebra, US History, Government, American Civil War, WWI, WW2, and oddly... Early American Broadcasting! So many students have test anxiety, math anxiety, or some other academic related anxiety about one thing or another and I can help with this too.

My credentials are varied. I have a master's degree in Education, bachelor's degree in History, with several minors including Math, Military Science, and Broadcasting. Although I've taught at the high school and community college level for over 30 years, I've had many other jobs, including proudly serving in the Army Reserve/National Guard as a radioman and an armor officer. I coached soccer for about 15 years or so. I spent many years in band in public school and in college. I'm a recognized expert in the history of early American broadcasting (Old Time Radio!). I consider myself a servant to my students, my family, my friends, and several spoiled cats and dogs.
