I am an educator whose desire is to empower my students to learn and advocate for themselves. A life-long learner, I have felt compelled to share knowledge with others since I was an elementary student. After volunteering throughout my high school years, I began my undergraduate at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Here, I held many leadership roles where I used my position to advocate for the educational needs of my peers and me. I graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors with a Bachelors in Exceptional Learning. Following this, I enrolled in a graduate program and begin teaching. Now, I hold a Master's degree with a 4.0 GPA on my transcripts. I have also worked 5 years as a elementary special education teacher.
I received Teacher of the year at my school, and I have a level of effectiveness of a 5 (highest one can receive per TN evaluation system). I have demonstrated my effectiveness and abilities in the classroom which has helped me receive awards, grants, leadership roles, and observations.
I have taught foundational skills for 5 years with many different approaches for a range of students.
I understand that each student has his or her needs, and I cater to them through forming a relationship with every individual.
I am seeking more ways to make an impact. A passionate, experienced, and high-quality educator, I am looking forward to working with your child!
