University of Tennessee Knoxville (History)
Hi! To get to know me quickly, let's just cover the basics. I'm from Knoxville, graduated summa cum laude from CAK, and have always been crazy about teaching. I realized this through playing basketball, which is kind of funny. I've been the leader and captain of every team I've played on, and that role requires a lot of teaching. To pursue this, I became a tutor in high school and worked with some of my classmates as a Chemistry, History, and Spanish tutor. Interesting combination, I know. I really loved tutoring so that totally helped the "college/what are you going to do with your future" decision. I am now a Senior at the University of Tennessee, pursuing a BA in History and will continue into grad school to get teaching certification.
As I'm starting my Senior year at UT, I would genuinely love to work as a tutor in the Knoxville area because 1) I am a college student who needs to make money and 2) there's no better way to make money than by doing what you love.
I believe location is very important with learning, so I'm very flexible with the location for my tutoring services. What works best for you is what works best for me! I'm also flexible in terms of cancellation because I know some family emergencies can come up, so I would just appreciate a couple hours heads up.
I hope to meet you soon! I'm all about education and motivation. I like to think I'm pretty good at both.
As a History major, we actually read and write as much as English majors do. What I love about reading for history is that it's open to interpretation--we get to analyze and craft arguments for what we believe the past was.
For my major, I am focusing on American history. I have a double minor in Geography and Education, so I think that makes me the trifecta for tutoring history!
Please contact me with any questions! Life has this habit of never stopping, but I will get back to you ASAP and would love to work through the craziness of life and find a time that works well for us both.
Hope to hear from you soon!!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
