Hi! I’m a registered nurse with four years of critical care experience and a graduate of Carson-Newman University. I hold my Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification and am currently pursuing my doctorate in nurse anesthesia. Throughout my nursing career, I served as an ICU Team Leader at Methodist Medical Center and worked as a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) nurse and ECMO specialist at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. These roles required an advanced understanding of human anatomy, physiology, biology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology, allowing me to apply complex scientific principles in high-pressure clinical situations.

My professional and academic experiences have taught me that truly understanding a subject is far more valuable than simply memorizing information. I enjoy breaking down challenging concepts into clear, manageable explanations and helping others understand the reasoning behind them. My approach emphasizes active recall, practice questions, visual learning, and real-world applications to strengthen comprehension and long-term retention. My clinical leadership experience has also helped me develop the communication skills, patience, and adaptability needed to explain complicated information effectively.

I am passionate about helping high school and college students succeed in biology, human anatomy, physiology, and other foundational sciences. I also welcome nursing and pre-health students who want to strengthen their understanding of medical concepts. Whether you’re preparing for a major exam, struggling with difficult coursework, or simply looking to build confidence in science, I’ll tailor our sessions to your individual learning needs. My goal is to help you not only improve your grades but develop a genuine understanding of the material that stays with you long after the exam.

Approved Subjects

Anatomy

Anatomy

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, am a Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), and am currently pursuing my doctorate in nurse anesthesia. I have successfully completed both undergraduate-level and doctoral-level human anatomy courses, earning an A in each, demonstrating a strong academic understanding of the subject at multiple levels of complexity. Throughout my four years in critical care, including serving as an ICU Team Leader at Methodist Medical Center and a CVICU nurse and ECMO specialist at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, I applied advanced anatomical knowledge in the care of critically ill patients. My combination of academic achievement and clinical experience allows me to explain complex anatomical structures, their physiological relationships, and their real-world applications in a clear, approachable way for students.
Biology

Biology

I am a Carson-Newman University graduate, a Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), and currently pursuing my doctorate in nurse anesthesia. My undergraduate education included biology-related coursework and microbiology, providing a strong foundation in cellular biology, microorganisms, infectious diseases, and the biological processes that govern human health. Throughout my four years in critical care, including serving as an ICU Team Leader at Methodist Medical Center and a CVICU nurse and ECMO specialist at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, I applied complex biological principles involving cellular function, infection, metabolism, and organ systems in real-world clinical situations. My combination of undergraduate science education, advanced doctoral studies, and extensive clinical experience allows me to explain challenging biological concepts clearly, connect them to practical applications, and help students develop a deeper understanding of the subject.
Nursing

Nursing

I am a Carson-Newman University graduate and Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) with four years of critical care nursing experience, including serving as an ICU Team Leader at Methodist Medical Center and as a CVICU nurse and ECMO specialist at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. I am currently pursuing my doctorate in nurse anesthesia, where I have maintained a 4.0 GPA while completing rigorous graduate-level coursework in advanced physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and anesthesia sciences. During my undergraduate nursing education, I also gained valuable teaching experience through mentoring and tutoring fellow nursing students, helping them understand challenging concepts, strengthen their clinical reasoning, and prepare for examinations. My combination of academic excellence, hands-on critical care experience, leadership, and previous tutoring experience allows me to help nursing students master difficult material through clear explanations, practical clinical examples, and individualized learning strategies.
