Hi all! I’m Lynn, and I’m here to help you succeed in Math and Korean. My main focus is mathematics; I have a Master's degree in the mathematics and bring more than 3 years of professional teaching experience. I previously served as an Adjunct Faculty member at Pellissippi State Community College and an Instructor of Record at the University of Tennessee. Over the years, I have taught a wide variety of students, ranging from recent high school graduates to adult learners in community college classrooms and one-on-one sessions, and small group sessions.

For mathematics, I tutor college and high school students taking Finite Math, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Discrete Math, and Algebra. My teaching approach focuses on truly understanding how and when to use formula rather than simple memorization so you can confidently tackle any problem on your own. I truly believe no one is inherently "bad" at math; it’s all about getting the right kind of structured practice, and I am here to provide that guidance.

On the side, as a native Korean speaker, I also offer fun and personalized Korean lessons for all ages. If you love K-Pop, K-Dramas, or Korean movies, we can use them to practice natural everyday expressions, accurate pronunciation, and practical conversation skills. I have experience teaching core discrete mathematics topics, including counting, probability, graphs, and mathematical induction back in 2025. I also gave student help during my time at the University of Tennessee, where I regularly helped students break down these exact concepts at the Math Place located inside the university library. I am highly comfortable guiding college students through rigorous logic, proofs, and combinatorics step-by-step. My goal is to help students recognize these core patterns and feel completely confident on their mathematical journey.

In the Fall of 2025, I taught MATH 0010/1010 (Math for General Studies), a comprehensive course covering topics from sets, geometry, and probability to real-world financial mathematics problems. I also taught the College Algebra course at the University of Tennessee. Because Finite Math and College Algebra share the same foundation and serve similar student demographics, my experience in both classrooms has made me highly comfortable guiding students through these exact practical concepts. I would like to guide students through these complex, multi-step word problems so they never feel overwhelmed by applied mathematics.

I always tell my students that logic is a mathematician's best friend because every single mathematical proof is rooted in logical reasoning. Understanding these concepts isn't just about passing a quiz; it is about building the deductive thinking skills required to map out clear arguments. I would like to help students master these structured rules so they can analyze statements with absolute clarity and ease.
