Master's in Curriculum and Instruction Licensed Tutor

Hi to all my wonderful future students. My educational background is in teaching and tutoring for grades K-6th. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Carson-Newman College and a Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from LMU. I have greatly enjoyed my years of teaching and tutoring in East TN. I hold a professional license for teaching in grades K -6th. I started teaching 5th grade in 2011 after graduating with honors for my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Having a master's degree in elementary education has allowed me the ability to prepare great lesson plans, design my own tests and quizzes, create detailed projects for students, and help students grow and mature. I really learned a lot about my teaching style as taught 5th grade. I then went on to teach many other grades such as Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 6th grade science. Some of my favorite things about being able to teach middle grades science are doing science labs and the use of technology.

I have taught and tutored in both public and private school settings. Whether tutoring is done through zoom on the computer or in person at the local library, I have found that making learning fun and intriguing really impacts all students. My method for tutoring is to help students develop confidence in their learning abilities in a fun-loving environment with me as their tutor. Learning should be engaging, happy, and respectful. I also currently tutor students age 5 to 14 years old for K12 Stride. The students and I tutor via a system called Engageli. Engageli is similar to zoom. I am able to see the students face to face during virtual tutoring. I love being able to see the excitement on each student's face as we review homework, practice reading skills, work on math objectives, construct science projects, and etc together. I greatly enjoy doing one on one or small group tutoring with all types of students. I look forward to meeting and working with you. :)
