I’m Jonathan, and I’m passionate about making math feel less like a hurdle and more like a powerful tool. I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering, complemented by minors in Engineering Management and Business Administration. My academic journey taught me that math isn't just about memorizing formulas but that it's the foundation for physics, chemistry, and every engineering discipline. I strive to help grade school students build a rock-solid foundation that sets them up for long-term success in any STEM field they choose to pursue.

My approach to tutoring is centered on conceptual clarity. Instead of just showing a student how to solve a problem, I explain the why behind the steps. To me, finding the correct answer is less important than developing a problem-solving framework that is repeatable and effective. Since August of 2024, I have been tutoring middle school students in math through an after-school program. This experience has allowed me to adapt my teaching style to both energetic groups of 5–10 students and focused one-on-one sessions. I’ve found that even the most "math-phobic" students gain confidence once they see how these concepts apply to real-world scenarios, like those I encountered in my 3 engineering internships.

I focus on identifying specific gaps in a student's understanding and filling them with clear explanations and relatable examples. Whether it’s mastering basic algebra or preparing for high school math exams, my goal is to ensure every student walks away feeling capable and empowered to tackle their next challenge.
