Hello, I’m Kaylen, I am a senior at L&N STEM Academy. I am going to the University of Tennessee in the fall for Nuclear Engineering, and hopefully Physics. I have been tutoring for over 2 years for neurodivergent kids and others who desire help. I have tutored kids from 9th grade and younger in all subjects. Currently I have an internship as a teacher's assistant at my school where I teach around 30 students how to make a well-rounded research project.

However, I am best with teaching math and science. I have tutored in subjects such as geometry and algebra (I & II). On the other hand, I have tutored in science subjects such as AP Biology, introduction to Chemistry, Physics I and Honors Physics, even Engineering Foundations, and Engineering Design using Onshape.

I am dyslexic and I have been tutored for 7 years. I take the skills I have learned from my own experience of being tutored and apply it to my teaching methods. I have found it is easiest to learn when learning seems fun or engaging. So, I always try to make learning engaging or interesting. I also like to show students what might be causing them trouble, and areas that need improvement. This allows me to give every student different and personalized solutions and tricks for a better understanding. These teaching methods will make sure students are prepared for tests. I find that it is most beneficial that students understand concepts rather than memorize answers to write on a test. This way of teaching makes students more prepared for finals and even more prepared for advanced subjects.
