I am currently working to complete an undergraduate degree, more specifically a Bachelor's of Science, majoring in Biological Sciences with a concentration in molecular and cellular biology. I have previously worked independently with highschools nearer to my home in Memphis to tutor students in biology, low-level algebra (generally high-school Algebra 1 and 2), and a wide array of writing, generally working most with academic essays and speech pieces. I also worked with the academic decathlon at my own high-school to teach and train public speaking skills, as speech was scored on a competitive level in that frame.
As I am actively pursuing a degree, I have no prior teaching experience or certifications. However, I do have prior experience and prioritize making connections with students above monetary benefit. For the majority of my career, I have previously worked with local students around my age range and find it to be easier to learn from peers, who have an understanding of your position, than individuals who share no common ground.
