I'm Ocean, currently an undergrad working towards a Bachelors in Mathematics (2028). With over 4 years of tutoring experience (2 years at the #1 public high school in my state), I also graduated from the this school and have taken many classes since then, such as AP Calculus BC, Calculus III, Differential Equations I, Matrix Algebra, as well as various other math courses.
Here is my academic history: Current University GPA: 3.62 (Honors), High School GPA: 3.88/4.45 (weighted) graduated w/ Distinction, taken 11 AP courses all passed (received a 5 in both Calc BC / Physics I), member of Mu Alpha Theta, and I have been tutoring from 2022-present. From 2022-2024, I was tutoring high school level math both in-person and virtual, in both 1 on 1 and group sessions, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Calculus 1, and Calculus 2. In the summer of 2024 and 2025, I was volunteering abroad, teaching grades 5-8 math and English.
My personal approach for helping others understand math is for me to first understand the way you try to solve a problem. Once I see your thought process, I can determine what needs improvement, whether it is lacking fundamentals or a misunderstanding of the topic. My goal is to make sure that you have a solid foundation, by teaching you how to think for yourself in a way that builds upon prior and future knowledge.
My students regularly see improvements to their grades (some even went from failing to A's) and a much better understanding for mathematical fundamentals.
