Hi, my name is Charles R. I graduated from Groton School in 2024 Summa Cum Laude and am currently attending Cornell University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences to study Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Throughout my time in Middle School and High School I have been a peer tutor, helping my brothers, classmates, and students in the grades below to excel and stand out in their classes. Last summer, I was hired by Groton as a teaching assistant for Latin 2 where I worked closely with a cohort of rising sophomores to teach them all of the Latin grammar necessary before taking Latin 3. Furthermore, I had been teaching unofficially for three years as the club head of Geography Club and Classics Club, and for the former I prepared a short lecture every week with a co-club head.
Outside of teaching I have learned and excelled in many subjects such that I feel more than prepared to teach them. I took AP Biology, AP Latin, AP Literature, AP Language, AP US History, and AP World History and received a 5 on the exam for each course. I have taken and received all A's in Advanced Ecology, Calculus, Physics C, Latin 5 and 6, College-level Chemistry 1 and 2, Statistics 1, and more.
Ultimately I hope that what I have learned and what I can teach may be of great use to you. I certainly would not have gotten to where I am now academically without peer tutors, so I hope to pay that help forward. I have a very flexible schedule this summer, and I would be honored to help you learn.
