Hi, I'm Kathryn! I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with my Bachelor's degree in Biology and Anthropology, then worked as a molecular biochemist before attending medical school. I am a recent medical school graduate with one year of surgical residency experience and am currently participating in a medical education and research program.

While in college I discovered my love for teaching as a math and science tutor in local middle schools, and also volunteered at an elementary morning reading program. I was hired as a teaching assistant for biological laboratory sciences at the collegiate level, and was a formal mentor to junior students throughout medical school. As a doctor I feel that one of my most important jobs is clear and effective communication with my patients to help them make the best decisions for themselves possible. In my current role as Medical Educator and Researcher I focus on adult education and learning techniques to meet my students where they are and ensure they are as successful as they can be.

Through these experiences, I have developed a deep appreciation for learning and education and find a lot of joy in helping others feel the same. In my long career as a student, I found that I learned best in a collaborative environment and when my own instructors were as invested in my success as I was. My best teachers have been those that spent the time to listen to me and understand where I am coming from in my learning journey, and I strive to emulate them in my teaching style. Whether you are an elementary or middle school student working on improving foundational math, science, and reading concepts, or on a pre-health journey trying to hone more advanced biology, physiology, or research skills, I have been there and I want you to succeed. Please feel free to reach out with any specific questions or to schedule your first session!

Such a great tutor!

Kathryn has helped me greatly in becoming more successful in pathophyisiology. I unfortunately had to retake the course, but my grades have drastically increased >20% than what they were previously. She takes the time to walk me thru difficult concepts, discusses questions together, and goes above and beyond by taking concepts deeper so that I fully grasp the concept versus just giving base level answers. I would highly recommend Kathryn if you're looking for someone to walk thru anything in patho :)

The Tutor Every Nursing/PA/Medical/Pre-MedStudent Needs

Working with Kathryn has been one of the best parts of my PA school journey. She helped me tremendously with EKGs, antibacterials, and so many other challenging topics. No matter how stressed or overwhelmed I felt, Kathryn was always patient, incredibly accommodating, and somehow managed to make even the hardest material feel approachable—and fun. Her sense of humor, dedication, and ability to simplify complex concepts made a huge difference in my confidence and understanding. Every PA student deserves a tutor like her.

Kind and smart tutor

Kathryn is a very kind and sociable tutor. I was struggling with Molecular and Cellular Biology and was ready to drop the class. I booked a lesson with Kathryn and instantly felt better about my skills right after our first session. She was kind and understanding about my struggles. If I got a question wrong, she was there to redirect me to the correct answer and help me understand the reasoning behind it. Her explanation skills are excellent, she is always on time, and always respectful; if you're looking for a helpful tutor with great skills, book with Kathryn!

Excellent

Kathryn is absolutely excellent, and I highly recommend her. In the beginning of the first session, Kathryn went through how she organizes the sessions. It presents Kathryn is honest and student-caring. Not only Kathryn is knowledgeable, she is patient. Sometimes you are struggling understanding things, you would feel it is almost impossible what you are trying to ask. However, Kathryn picks up what I was struggling and explains why/how I was struggling. Sometimes you would feel embarrassed to ask questions or ask the same things over and over. However, Kathryn always makes sure we are working on what helps me. Kathryn always takes time to prepare for the sessions in advance. It absolutely helped my path to learn EKG. I highly recommend her sessions, and I know you will find out why by yourself.

Knowledgeable, patient and overall great teacher!

I cannot recommend Kathryn highly enough! She has been an incredible guide through challenging subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Cardiology, Pulmonology, and more. Her depth of knowledge is reassuring, and she makes complex material approachable and easier to understand. What sets Kathryn apart is her patience and preparedness. She reviews and if needed researches the materials we have scheduled to better prepare for her lessons. No matter how many questions I ask or how much time I need to grasp a concept, she never rushes me. Thanks to her expertise and support, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of these subjects and feel much more confident in my studies. Overall, Kathryn is a great help in guiding and ensuring success for numerous courses.

Cares for student learning.

Asked me what book I used, so she could relate my lesson to my text. I have never had an instructor show that much attention to detail. Cared about my learning style and objective.
