Hi! I'm Harrison, a professional tutor specializing in SAT and ACT prep, as well as related academic subjects. I discovered my passion and skill for teaching while leading a functional biochem course at my university, where I recently graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Biochemistry, two research publications in scientific journals, and five years of teaching experience.

I developed a focus on test prep due to the very real impact the SAT and ACT had on my life. Just before graduating high school, I received an acceptance letter from the elite private university that had become my dream school - along with a financial summary that made it clear I could never afford to attend. I was crestfallen, but I kept looking into my options, and with the help of my mother and guidance counselor I found a number of schools offering generous financial aid for students with high SAT and ACT scores. I studied hard, did my research, and mastered the strategy of these exams, earning near-perfect scores on both the SAT (1570/1600) and ACT (35/36), the distinction of National Merit Scholar (99.5th percentile nationally on PSAT), and a full ride to college. Thanks to the same SAT/ACT strategies I teach here, I was able to attend college out-of-state, make lifelong friends from around the country, and graduate debt-free. Put simply, the SAT changed my life, and I want to pay the benefit forward to my students.

I tailor all of my lessons to my student's strengths and goals, because the point of education should be to prepare students for their future. I use deep, conceptual explanations to build a strong content base in areas my students will need going forward, while simplifying the areas where they aren't so strong to a level they feel comfortable with. Please consider reaching out to discuss your student's goals and how I can help make them come true!

I know how to adapt my material to the student's age and maturity level, and am very good at explaining concepts to multiple levels of understanding. I also work hard to set my students up for their future goals by laying a solid foundation of conceptual knowledge that many teachers skip out on.
