My first teaching experience began, in an unexpected and unconventional way. I remember stumbling upon a flyer in the Biology building during college, inquiring for a tutor to help their high school daughter with her Honors Biology course. I needed a job at the time so I took a chance and called the number on the flyer. It turned out to be one of the most memorable and pivotal moment in my life. I was on track to becoming a veterinarian, which is all I had ever thought I wanted. But after helping this sweet Honors student go from making a D in her class, to a B in one semesters time, I realized that this was something I was truly passionate about. This same family recommended me to some friends of theirs whose 6 year old daughter needed help staying focused on her homework after school. During this same time, I signed up to be a Biology lab TA, to help teach entry level Biology labs. I continued with both positions until I graduated and moved to Johnson City. During my time here, I have since decided to pursue a teaching career, so I can continue to help others discover their passions.
I have a Biology degree with a Zoology emphasis, which my college recommended for all pre-veterinary students. I have taken various Biology related courses such as zoology and animal physiology, as well as Statistics, Physics, and various Chemistry's, such as Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry.
I am passionate about learning and helping others obtain their goals and desires. I hope to help instill the same passion for learning through our time together. I am excited to meet you and help you along this amazing journey!
