I am an undergraduate double B.S. student in Biology and Psychology, with a concentration in neurobiology and adolescent behavioral psychology. I currently work as an undergraduate research assistant in a pharmacology of addiction research lab, as well as a research ambassador for Sherrod Library, and have previous experience working in a circadian rhythms research lab. My course load includes a heavy focus in behavioral psychology, psychopathology, biochemistry, and neuroscience, and I am projected to begin an M.S in Biochemistry after I graduate this spring.
I have experience in classroom student teaching, one on one tutoring, and group work, with specific experience in working with children and teenagers who struggle with attention deficit disorders and other related learning disorders. I understand that not every child will benefit the same from a standardized curriculum, and that a personalized tutoring plan per the child’s learning style and interests is the most effective.
I have primarily tutored students ages 10-21, with specific experience as the president of the Future Teachers of America student organization in high school, which allowed us to visit classrooms, shadow teachers, make lesson plans, and tutor students who need extra help. I’ve continued to do individual tutoring into college for high school and college-aged students who need help with research, math, music, life sciences, and English. Overall, I have been tutoring for over 5 years, with experience in a wide range of age groups.
