My name is Ben, and I have spent the last 6 years of my life studying mathematics at East Tennessee State University, obtaining my bachelor's degree in mathematical sciences in 2023. I am currently finishing my master's degree in mathematical sciences under a graduate assistantship scholarship. My assistantship duties entailed two semesters of calculus tutoring at my university's tutoring center. During this process, I obtained ITTPC level 2 tutor certification and am now teaching a learning support section in Probability and Statistics at my university as a Professor of Record. My calculus tutoring has become systematic in helping learners overcome common hurdles that I have identified over the years. As a part of my graduation requirements, I have passed my university's comprehensive graduate exams in both calculus and linear algebra, making me highly knowledgeable in these fields.
I am proficient in python, and my Probability and Statistics utilizes Minitab software for analyzing data.
I have both online and in-person tutoring options available. I have a web camera, document camera, chalkboards in my home office, and everything needed to have a successful online tutoring experience if you choose this option. My teaching experience has helped me become knowledgeable using Zoom and troubleshooting common technology issues in real-time.
Please feel free to reach out with any other questions you may have or to schedule a tutoring appointment. I am looking forward to working with you to help you learn to the best of your ability. I am a believer that every student can be a "math person" with the correct approach that is different for every student. My job is to find the approach that will resonate the most with you, and from there, you will reach your full potential.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration!
