Welcome! If you are reading this, you are in need of a tutor, and, as I am in need of students, we have a lot in common! Before reading further, please make sure you are looking for an online-only tutor.
Allow me to tell you about my qualifications. I am a secondary school social science teacher with a very special attribute: I have a B.A. in Psychology. My undergraduate education also included 21 credit hours in History (primarily American History). I also have a Master of Arts degree in Secondary Education, and I am eligible for teaching certification in Arizona and Tennessee. I have three years of classroom teaching experience, and I am certified to teach AP Psychology.
More than two-thirds of my AP Psychology students have scored a “3” or better on the AP Psychology exam, and the majority of these scored “4” or above. We surpassed average scores across the globe. I give full credit to my excellent students for their accomplishments. I can also attribute their success to the strategies I have developed to enhance comprehension and retention.
I am also still a student, pursuing a second Master’s degree in School Counseling. If academic writing is your greatest challenge, please allow me to advise you. My personal research paper assignments, ranging in length from 1,000 to 30,000 words, consistently earn grades in excess of 95%. I can help you with proofreading, grammar, research (finding and interpreting), and APA formatting. Finally, because teaching is my second career, I am also a qualified staff accountant who can tutor in accounting and Office applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
My goal is to help you achieve your goal, whether it is an excellent score on the AP Psychology exam, teaching you how to study for the best results, easing test anxiety, or improving your academic writing. Because I am in the process of changing geographical locations, we will rely on technology. One advantage of this method is its flexibility to accommodate your busy schedule. You must have reliable access to a computer for emailing assignments and lecture notes. We can also interact via video conferencing by appointment for a more personal touch that includes hands-on demonstrations of key concepts we can do together or you can do on your own.
I look forward to hearing from you to discuss the ways in which I can help you achieve your academic goals! Welcome! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
