I earned my B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where I built a strong foundation in mathematics, chemistry, physics, and engineering principles. Since graduating, I have worked as an R&D Engineer in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, applying quantitative problem-solving and scientific reasoning to real-world biomedical challenges. My research experience has also resulted in peer-reviewed publications in synthetic biology and molecular diagnostics, giving me practical experience that I enjoy bringing into my lessons.

I have experience tutoring students from middle school through freshman-level college courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and engineering. My tutoring has primarily been in one-on-one settings, where I adapt each lesson to the student's individual learning style, goals, and pace. Rather than focusing on memorization, I help students develop a deeper understanding of concepts so they can confidently solve new and unfamiliar problems on their own.

I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching approach to each individual's way of thinking. Whether a student needs help building foundational skills, preparing for an exam, or tackling challenging STEM coursework, I strive to create a supportive learning environment where questions are encouraged and mistakes become opportunities to learn. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students build confidence and become independent problem solvers.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have a strong foundation in algebra, calculus, and advanced mathematics through my B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and professional R&D engineering experience. I have experience tutoring students in mathematics by helping them understand concepts, develop problem-solving strategies, and build confidence with challenging material. My approach focuses on understanding the reasoning behind each step rather than memorizing procedures, allowing students to apply their skills to new problems. I work with students to strengthen their algebra foundations, master topics such as functions, equations, polynomials, and logarithms, and prepare for future STEM coursework.
Biology

Biology

I hold a B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering with a concentration in biomolecular engineering, giving me a strong background in biology, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, cell biology, and molecular biology. My academic and research experience has allowed me to apply these concepts in hands-on scientific settings, including work involving biomolecular engineering, biosensors, tissue engineering, and biotechnology. I have also tutored and mentored students from middle school through college in biology and related science subjects. I focus on breaking complex biological concepts into clear, manageable pieces and connecting concepts to real-world examples. My goal is to help students understand why biological processes work rather than simply memorize information.
Chemical Engineering

Chemical Engineering

I earned my B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and have professional experience as an R&D Engineer applying chemical engineering principles to biomedical and tissue engineering challenges. My education provided a strong foundation in thermodynamics, transport phenomena, reaction engineering, process design, mass and energy balances, and engineering problem-solving. I enjoy helping students understand both the theoretical concepts and practical applications of chemical engineering, guiding them through coursework, homework, and exam preparation with a focus on building confidence and analytical thinking. Whether you are taking introductory chemical engineering courses or more advanced subjects, I tailor each lesson to your learning style and academic goals.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I earned my B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, where I developed a strong foundation in general, organic, and physical chemistry, thermodynamics, and chemical processes. My engineering education and professional R&D experience have allowed me to apply chemistry concepts to real-world problems in biomedical research and tissue engineering. I have experience tutoring students in chemistry by helping them understand concepts, solve problems, and develop effective study strategies. My teaching approach focuses on connecting fundamental principles to practical applications while adapting lessons to each student's learning style and goals.
Elementary Science

Elementary Science

I have experience tutoring students in elementary science by helping them build a strong understanding of foundational concepts in biology, chemistry, physics, and Earth science. My background includes a B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and professional research and engineering experience, which enables me to explain scientific concepts clearly, engagingly, and age-appropriately. I encourage curiosity and critical thinking while adapting each lesson to the student's learning style and pace. My goal is to help students build confidence in science and develop a lasting interest in how the world works.
Genetics

Genetics

My background in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, along with my research experience in synthetic biology and molecular diagnostics, has given me a strong foundation in genetics and molecular biology. I have worked with DNA, gene expression, molecular techniques, and microbial systems through academic research that resulted in peer-reviewed publications. I enjoy helping students understand inheritance, gene regulation, molecular genetics, and modern biotechnology by connecting concepts to real-world research and applications. My teaching approach emphasizes conceptual understanding and problem-solving so students can confidently apply genetics principles in coursework and laboratory settings.
Microbiology

Microbiology

My background in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, combined with my research experience in synthetic biology and molecular diagnostics, has provided me with a strong foundation in microbiology. I have worked with microbial systems in both academic research and peer-reviewed publications, giving me practical insight into microbiology, molecular biology, and laboratory techniques. I enjoy helping students understand microorganisms, microbial physiology, genetics, and laboratory concepts by connecting textbook material to real-world scientific applications. My teaching approach focuses on building conceptual understanding so students can confidently apply microbiology principles in class and the laboratory.
Thermodynamics

Thermodynamics

I earned my B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, where thermodynamics was a core component of my engineering education. My coursework and professional R&D experience required me to apply thermodynamic principles to analyze energy, heat transfer, phase behavior, and chemical processes in real-world engineering settings. I enjoy helping students understand the fundamental concepts behind thermodynamics and guiding them through challenging calculations and problem-solving techniques. My teaching emphasizes building a strong conceptual foundation so students can confidently apply thermodynamic principles in engineering and physical science courses.
