My education includes an undergraduate degree in philosophy and English, a Master of Education in Elementary Education, and graduate work in Special Education and an MFA in Writing. I have over 20 years of experience teaching students from elementary through college with diverse learning abilities. I also have experience in assistive technology like Bookshare and Kurzweil, and finding solutions with whatever technology you already have available to you.
I began tutoring geometry in high school, and since then have tutored students of various ages, including adults, in everything from reading comprehension and writing to technology use and study skills. I pride myself in being able to help students see and experience their strengths while helping them to develop strategies to tackle challenges, build their skills, and reach educational goals.
