History is something I’ve always been passionate about, especially as I am entering graduate school at William & Mary. My research typically deals with Early America and Early Modern Europe, so I am well versed in both American and European history. I have been tutoring college-level history and French classes for two years and, before that, privately taught French. I hold a double major in both French and history. I lived and worked in France for two months, gaining a deeper understanding of the French language that I hope to pass on to students.
Over the years, I have gained plenty of experience in research and writing that helped me earn admission to a Public Ivy League graduate school. I am passionate about helping students to learn and to grow in their reading, writing, researching, and exam-taking skills. I can help tutor students in writing (whether it be history, English, French, or college admissions), research, exam skills, AP exam skills, French language skills, or the Reading and English sections of the ACT (both of which I have a 36 in).
During my time in undergrad, I won a Best Paper prize at the regional Phi Alpha Theta history conference. I won first place in my university’s history paper competition, the History Department award, and medals of excellence in both history and French. During my senior year, I served as president of our honors history club and completed an internship in the university archives, organizing and processing historic media, documents, and artifacts. It would be my pleasure to work with you! I’m excited to get to know you.
