I am a certified math teacher with a master's in education and a bachelor’s in mathematics. My background in math started with competitions in middle and high school, including a 1600 Math SAT and a 36 Math ACT. I am a certified math teacher with a master's in education and a bachelor’s in mathematics. My background in math started with competitions in middle and high school, including a 1600 Math SAT and a 36 Math ACT. I pursued many upper-level maths such as probability, number theory, and differential equations in college getting a degree in the field.

My teaching and tutoring experiences range from 5 years in the high school classroom to tutoring student athletes at ETSU, the local college. I pride myself in being adept at meeting the student where they are and getting growth from them class over class. My teacher's level of effectiveness is a 4 in my tested subjects, Geometry and Algebra II. The ages of students I am used to are 13-18 but I am certified to teach down to 7th grade math if necessary.

My tutoring and teaching strategy mostly lies in the method of chunking. Chunking is breaking down material into the smallest possible parts and reassembling the larger skill after a student can perform the smaller skills. Depending on student level of performance, I can choose to chunk smaller or larger to expedite student success. This is just one strategy I chose to write about, but there are many others in my tool belt and I am sure I can find the right one for you.

Approved Subjects

ACT Math

ACT Math

I have taught all subjects from Algebra I to Pre-Calc which are necessary on the ACT. I have taught all of these subjects for 5 years. I achieved an 800 SAT Math and 36 ACT Math as a high school student. I like to teach content, but also try to pass on my natural test taking abilities to my clients.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have taught Algebra II 3 of the 5 years I have been a certified teacher. I have a 1st place finish in Algebra II in competition math from when I was a sophomore in high school. This specific branch of math was my highest performing subject of my academic career, so I often find that I teach this very well. My growth metrics with the state I teach for are also superior in Algebra II.
Calculus

Calculus

I am currently teaching Calculus AB which makes the content very fresh on my mind. I am constantly adapting to different learning needs in my own classroom, which helps me adapt to your unique needs as a student. I have Calculus experience in Calculus I, II, and III from my Mathematics Bachelors, so with enough preperation I could assist you with anything necessary
Geometry

Geometry

Geometry is my most taught subject at my day job which keeps the content fresh and moving. I currently teach geometry at a high level to an honors class at my local high school. I am familiar with Geometry from any state's standards if necessary, just let me know which state you are from and I will make sure the material is comprehensive.
GRE

GRE

Quantitative Reasoning on the GRE is a mix of lower level math and logic which are skills that I excel in. I have taken the GRE and have gotten in the top percentile of Quantitative Reasoning scores. I hope to pass on some of my natural test taking abilities to my clients to help them wrangle this test.
Probability

Probability

Probability is my favorite branch of mathematics and I have taught it in many subjects for the 5 years of my career. I also have a 400 level probability class under my belt during my Mathematics bachelors so I have a firm understanding on basic and high level probability if needed. I can also help with combinatorics, a branch of probability dedicated to counting.
GMAT
Music Theory
