I have utilized several teaching strategies in my years of teaching. I always try to treat each student, as a knowledgeable person, who can learn. I break the information into a sequence of small, doable steps. This is one teaching strategy that I probably use the most, especially in the subject areas of reading, English, and math.
I have taught 14 years in the elementary grades, in all of the subject areas. I have taught close to 6 years at the high school level in the area of special education, in the area of CDC. Every single year that I have taught, I have taught reading, English, spelling, and math. I always strive to do my very best work. I really want my students to succeed, no matter how low functioning that they may be. I also enjoy working with my students parents. Also I have certifications in the following areas: Grades 1-8 elementary, K-12 special education, and Grades 7-12 history. I also hold a Master's degree in special education, in the areas of Curriculum and Instruction.
